Spain’s Iberia Airlines will be the only airline offering non-stop flights between Spain and Washington D.C. with five flights a week from Madrid to the American capital.
This new service will meet the growing demands for connecting flights by official entities in Spain, southern European and the U.S; technology companies in D.C., Maryland and Virginia; universities like Georgetown and Virginia that offer exchange programs with Spanish universities; and, the large Spanish community in Washington D.C.
The new direct service to D.C. will also benefit passengers travelling to Baltimore and Philadelphia.
Iberia has scheduled five flights a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) on its 260-passenger Airbus A-340 aircraft. The airline also offers Business Plus service to corporate clients.
With the Washington D.C. service, Iberia will increase the number of summer flights to the U.S. On May 6, they will also launch non-stop flights to Boston, five times a week.
In addition, Iberia will offer four more flights to New York, increasing service to two times a day; 2 more flights will be added to the Chicago service, including one daily direct flight; and Miami will increase service with three more flights, for a total of 10 flights weekly.
Thanks to an agreement with American Airlines, Iberia offers flights to 16 other U.S. cities including Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, St. Louis and Seattle
