Arellano Construction, a subsidiary of the OHL Group, was awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification for the Basketball Practice Facility, a building it constructed for the University of Miami.
According to a communication released by the Spanish company, the certification is administered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), an internationally recognized organization that verifies the level and quality of environmental efficiency in buildings.
The internationally recognized LEED certification is awarded after an independent third-party verifies that the design and construction of a building project meets the highest environmental standards to improve the life-long performance of a building.
