Bimbo expands its product portfolio in Panama

Bimbo Panama, a subsidiary of Spanish bakery company Bimbo, has introduced a new product in the country, a "Twin Pack" with a raisin bread and a butter bread, the first product designed in the Panamanian market, and prospects for export to Central America, according to a company statement.

Another innovation in this market will be the introduction of the first packages with additional labeling on the front with more information to consumers.

Bimbo Panama plant has four production lines, with over 150 products manufactured. The Spanish company opened in Panama in 2006 with a range of products imported from Costa Rica, but then bought the Panamanian firm Panificadora Moderna.

Bimbo is present in the United States, Europe, China and Central America. Last year the firm also bought the leading U.S. bakery.
