The Spanish company Naturener has closed a financing deal of $ 252 million (172 million €) to build the Glacier II Wind Farm in Montana (USA). The company, as announced in its website, has secured the funding from two sources: an 80 million € construction loan, and a long-term funding of 91 million € through the formula of a fiscal investor. With this formula the fiscal investor anticipates the capital and then receives fuds from the renewable energy plan that the Obama administration grants to new wind farms, since credits to the production or investment offered by the U.S. executive are received through tax deductions.
The park will have a 103.5 MW wind power, which added to those already installed in the country will consolidate Naturener as the third Spanish company in wind energy in the U.S., behind Iberdrola Renovables and Acciona.
The company will install, also in Montana, a third wind farm called Rim Rock, which will have an installed capacity of 309 MW and expeted to be completed in 2011. That same year, the firm also will start building another 400MW wind farm in Alberta (Canada).
