Former Spanish President Jose Maria Aznar recently visited the U.S. to headline a conference at Yale University and attend the annual Atlantic Council awards dinner honoring George H.W. Bush and Helmut Kohl.
According to the FAES Foundation, Aznar, a professor at Georgetown University, led a discussion at Yale on international politics and economy.
Former President Aznar attended the annual awards gala hosted by the Atlantic Council of the United States, a private organization that promotes leadership of the Atlantic community in international affairs.
The Council honored former heads of government George H.W. Bush, president of the United States from 1989 to 1993, and German Chancellor Helmut Kohl for their international leadership. Other award recipients included General David Petraeus, recognized for his military leadership; IBM chairman, CEO, and president, Samuel Palmisano, for his leadership in business, research, and ITC; and baritone Thomas Hampso, for his artistic leadership.
Aznar became a member of the Atlantic Council International Advisory Board in 2007 along with the former President of Poland, Alexander Kwasniewski, and other world political and economic leaders.
