Sellex, the Spanish furniture and design equipment company, has expanded to Italy and Denmark.
The company increased its network of agents and has managed to penetrate the highly demanding Italian market, the birthplace of design, where it is stepping up volume.
Sellex currently exports to 45 countries including Portugal, France, the United States, Denmark and Turkey. Spain, with a 45% share, continues to be the company’s most important market.
Sellex operates in the U.S. through a royalty system by which the Spanish company from Guipuzcoa provides an American company with all the information it needs to develop and market its product, in exchange for a portion of the proceeds made on the sale of the product. It has been using this system with one company since 2005 and another since 2007.
In 2009 Sellex will offer a new catalogue, which replaces steel chrome chairs with painted ones, allowing for a broader color palette.
