Aguas de Barcelona (Agbar), the Spanish potable water company, is considering possible investments in the United States, Chile, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia and Asia.
Agbar, which in the first six months of the year made around $ 230 million, already does business in China and Korea, and reigns over water concessions in Chile.
In an interview with Reuters, company CEO Jordi Mercader explained that between cash and credit, Agbar has $ 2.21 billion available to invest.
After noting that “water industry estimates have not declined much”, Mercader said that there are no other big acquisitions on the table.
