Description:A seminar on the possibilities for adapting Spanish audiovisual content for the US market has been organized for 8 and 9 July in Madrid and Barcelona in order to strengthen the sale of Spanish television formats in the country.
Selling content to the USA is complicated as it is the leading content producer in the world and nationally produced content dominates the local market. Furthermore, there is no tradition of viewers watching foreign programs. However, there is a growing lack of new ideas in the American audiovisual industry, which is leading it to look for foreign formats and productions in order to make local versions in the USA.
The speakers at the seminar will talk on the dynamics and methods of negotiating in Hollywood from the point of view of creatives and buyers. All media formats will be covered including TV, cinema and advertising. It will focus on the whole process, from pitching, the offer, the purchase, and how the project is carried out once the negotiation is complete. Special emphasis will be placed on pitching, how it is done, who does it and what materials are required. How to communicate the concept to give a clear and precise presentation of a project. How to schedule a pitching session with the studios, networking, etc. It will also look at some practical examples, such as adapting books to series and films, etc.
