Public infrastructure and equipment concessions in Spain
Infrastructure and public equipment are the necessary physical support for a nation`s economic and social development. Infrastructures underpin the functioning of almost all sectors in such a way that the effectiveness of the economic system as a whole, the competitiveness of the different regions, and the conditions and quality of life of their populations benefit from the existence of infrastructures. The positive effects are evident, first, by improving the potential for economic growth and helping attain full employment; second, giving more access to many services considered to be essential; and third, tending to a fairer distribution of income and wealth that is also more equally distributed regionally. These qualities make public infrastructures an essential element in connecting and unifying the nation. Infrastructure policy becomes one of the most important tools in designing economic policy and is receiving more and more attention and interest from governments. This report analyses the current Spanish infrastructure and public equipment concessions framework and its offers.
